Flower Basket Program Needs Sponsors
Flower Basket 8x10

As the weather attempts to show us a few sunny days - we at the Chamber are looking to add a little color to our community.  Every year the Chamber sponsors, along with help from our members and community donors and maintains the flower baskets that are hung all over town.  The oversize baskets that are purchased locally, cost over $200 per season to water, fertilize and maintain.

We look to the community to help us make this annual tradition happen.  We've ordered 70 baskets for display this year and they are currently growing at the nursery waiting for installation in mid-May.

Baskets are hung by volunteers.  Locations are determined by sponsor contributions.  If you would like to have a basket in front of your location the cost to sponsor is $200, $175 will sponsor a basket at any location (to be determined by committee) and $100 will help sponsor the baskets around town.  No contribution is turned away - any amount helps us maintain the flowers for as long as possible each season.

"This program really makes an impact on visitors to Silverton and the overall look of town in the summer" said Chairperson Angela Adcock.  The Chamber receives inquiries from visitors on an annual basis wondering "How do you get your baskets so big?"  Here's a hint - it's all about the fertilizing!

If you would like to make a contribution to the Flower Basket Program - you can do so by mailing a check to the Silverton Chamber - Flower Baskets, P.O. Box 257 Silverton, OR 97381.

Annual Chamber Golf Tournament Gears Up for May

The Chamber is getting ready to host it's 20th Annual Chamber Classic Golf Tournament on Friday, May 12th - and you can be a j0405508part of the action.  The tournament is a great way to network with fellow chamber members whether you are a golfer or not.  We have opportunities for everyone to participate in this years event.  Considered a "duffers" tournament, the format is a four man scramble with plenty of opportunities to have fun on the course.
Cost to participate is $280 for a 4 man team - $340 if you want all the bells and whistles for out on the course in our "ALL IN" package.  Non-golfers can also just join us for the dinner and trophy presentation at 5:30 for just $25.

There are several ways your business can participate as well - either as a sponsor or by manning a hole during the tournament.  Either way you get your name out in front of fellow chamber members in a relaxed, fun way.  We've had long drive contests with marshmellows and even putted red potatoes, you never know what may happen along the course.

If you'd like more information on how you can get involved, contact our Golf Chairperson Brian Mitchell at (503) 874-8808.
